Isran Noor is the Governor of East Kalimantan for the period of 2018 – 2023.
Prior to becoming governor, he was once Regent of East Kutai Regency during the period of 2008-2015. Dr. Isran Noor completed his bachelor’s degree at Mulawarman University, graduating in 1981. Later, he obtained his master’s from Dr. Soetomo University in Surabaya (2002) and a Ph.D. on Governance from Padjadjaran University in Bandung (2014). After obtaining his bachelor’s degree, Dr. Noor became a civil servant, working as an educator for farmers in the East Kalimantan province between 1981 and 1995. In 1996, he was promoted to head of agriculture and was promoted again in 2001 to become the assistant for economy and development in East Kutai Regency.
