Speakers at Yucatan Annual Meeting – Sergio Graf

Sergio Humberto Graf Montero is an Agronomist specialized in sustainable forestry production from the University of Guadalajara, México; he has a diploma in Sustainable Development from the LEAD-COLMEX program and a master’s degree in Rural Development and Social Forestry from the School of Tropical Agronomy of Montpellier, France.  Throughout his career, he has specialized in the study and conservation of nature, as well as consolidating and promoting shared leadership for environmental governance. He has served as a consultant and head of projects in collaboration with numerous public and international organizations and has held public positions as Director of the Manantlán Biosphere Reserve, General Coordinator of Production and Productivity of the National Forestry Commission of Mexico, and as Director of the Institute of Renewable Energy of the University of Guadalajara.  In the academic field, he has served as author and co-author in several publications and is a Professor at the University of Guadalajara.  He is the recipient of the 2018 National Award for Ecological Merit, the highest award given by the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources of Mexico (SEMARNAT).  He served as the Secretary of Environment and Territorial Development of the State of Jalisco, México from December 2018-December 2022.
