Yesterday marked International Women’s Day 2022, with a unique theme: Gender Equality Today for Sustainable Tomorrow. We recognize the numerous women across the GCF Task Force who ensure we have a “sustainable tomorrow” through forest protection and climate mitigation.
Gender equality goes hand in hand with the missions of the GCF Task Force: to protect tropical forests, reduce emissions from deforestation and forest degradation, and promote realistic pathways to forest-maintaining rural development. The GCF Task Force would cease to exist if it wasn’t for women at the forefront of our work. It is also critical, however, that we acknowledge the important work that still needs to be done across all the regions and the world to achieve an equitable and inclusive future for all.
