Tracking Impact

Political ambition and important climate commitments must be accompanied by measurable progress toward implementation. By tracking our progress toward reducing deforestation, advancing low-emissions economic development, and improving livelihoods, we measure the impact of our work across tropical forest states and provinces.

Knowledge Database

The GCF Task Force Knowledge Database tracks state and provincial-level progress on curbing deforestation as well as  policies, frameworks, and initiatives that work toward this goal. The Knowledge Database provides a platform that displays members’ current status as well as longer-term trends on land use and deforestation. It also features laws and policies related to land governance and territorial rights and progress towards implementing key forest and climate commitments like the Guiding Principles for Collaboration and Partnership Between Subnational Governments, Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities.

Information housed on the Knowledge Database is provided by our member states and provinces and complemented by official subnational data.

PLEASE NOTE: As of May 2026 we are in the process of updating data that was formerly included in the Knowledge Database. We will release jurisdiction pages as they are updated. Please stay tuned.
