Brian Atienza serves as Director of Finance for the Governors’ Climate and Forests Task Force (GCF Task Force) at the Emmett Institute on Climate Change and the Environment at UCLA School of Law. He is a finance and accounting professional with over 18 years of experience in healthcare and higher education, specializing in financial management, post-award administration, audit compliance, and sponsored research oversight. Brian has held leadership and financial management roles at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, University of California, Los Angeles, and California State University, Northridge, where he managed multi-million-dollar portfolios, led financial teams, and supported operational and compliance initiatives. He received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Management from California State University, Northridge.
