What We Do

Jurisdictional Strategies

The Governors’ Climate and Forests Task Force works closely with member states and provinces to help develop and update jurisdictional strategies for REDD+, low-emissions development, and bioeconomy. We enable secretaries, key civil servants, and their civil society partners to implement these crucial strategies bymapping implementation capacity, addressing key barriers, creating learning and exchange opportunities across jurisdictions, and providing technical support.

By fostering connection, shared purpose, and practical skills, we build a resilient network of public servants and civil society actors. This continuity helps sustain progress across political transitions.

Capacity Building

We create peer-to-peer learning and exchange opportunities across the GCF Task Force network and provide directed technical assistance to ensure that the forest and climate agenda is integrated into government programs and policies at multiple scales.

Promote Civil Servant Commitment to Forests and Climate Agenda

By fostering connection, shared purpose, and practical skills, we build a resilient network of public servants and civil society actors. This continuity helps sustain progress across political transitions.
