What We Do

Political Engagement

The GCF Task Force facilitates subnational leadership to reduce deforestation and advance inclusive, equitable, low-emissions development in states and provinces and across entire regions.

Mobilizing Governors

We facilitate political engagement and leadership by Governors and their high-level staff in national, regional, and international processes. We support the alignment of climate, forest, and sustainable development strategies across jurisdictions and regions.

High-Level Meetings

We drive subnational climate leadership by securing governor and senior staff participation in high-level forums such as COP, Climate Week NYC, and our own Annual Meetings.

Strategic Partnerships

With over 100 strategic partnerships, we bridge the gap between our members and the broader climate community to facilitate collaboration with the private sector, civil society, national governments, and Indigenous and local communities.

Regional Leadership & Coordination

Country Directors support regional coordination for clusters of member states and provinces in Bolivia, Brazil, Ecuador, Indonesia, Mexico, and Peru. Country Directors are housed within local NGOs and work directly with our members to identify needs, develop long-term strategic plans, and implement annual work plans.
