Aliança Brasil Nature-based Solutions (Aliança Brasil NBS), the Governors’ Climate and Forests Task Force (GCF Task Force), and the Brazilian Association of State Environmental Entities (Associação Brasileira de Entidades Estaduais de Meio Ambiente, ABEMA) announced the creation of a new REDD+ Coalition at the 4th Brazilian Climate and Carbon Conference (Conferência Brasileira Clima e Carbono, CBCC) on August 28, 2026 in São Paulo, Brazil.

The REDD+ Coalition was created to strengthen efforts to ensure that carbon economy resources reach the territories and contribute to their sustainable social and economic transformation. The coalition will bring together governments, businesses, and civil society around an agenda “capable of reconciling forest conservation, environmental integrity, investment, and socioeconomic development.”
