During our 15th Annual Meeting (2025), we announced a partnership initiative with Amazonia+ called Mechanism for the Exchange of Subnational Public Policies for the Sustainable Environmental Management of the Amazon (Mecanismo de Intercambio de Políticas Públicas Subnacionales para la Gestión Ambiental Sostenible de la Amazonía, MIPA).
About Amazonia+
Amazonia+ is a program that was launched in July 2023 and funded by the European Union. The program is implemented by the Italian (Agenzia Italiana per la Cooperazione allo Sviluppo, AICS), French (Expertise France), and Spanish (Fundación para la Internacionalización de las Administraciones Públicas, FIAP) cooperation agencies, as well as by the European Union’s Joint Research Center.

Regenerative Agriculture and Livestock Farming for Jurisdictions with Forests in Peru and the Amazon

The first MIPA technical exchange was organized by the Regional Government of Ucayali (Peru) and the Mancomunidad Regional Amazónica (MRA) or Amazon Regional Association, with technical support from the Governors’ Climate and Forests Task Force (GCF Task Force) and Amazonia+.

Exchange of Experiences on the Implementation of Green Road Infrastructure Guidelines

Bogotá & Guaviare, Colombia
The second MIPA technical exchange was organized by the governments of Caquetá and Guaviare in Colombia, the provinces of Morona Santiago, Pastaza, Zamora Chinchipe, and Orellana in Ecuador, and MRA, with technical support from the GCF Task Force and Amazonia+.
